Ballymore Eustace
An existing bungalow suffering from sinking foundations was deemed too far dilapidated to warrant expense on refurbishing. It was decided to demolish the existing house, and to take the opportunity to build a new highly energy-efficient house in its place. This new house is designed spatially to take advantage of the superb garden which the clients themselves have laid out. The new house is built using honeycomb clay blocks with external wall insulation. A wood pellet burner and heat recovery ventilation system look after the heating and fresh air requirements of the house.

Indicative build cost (2010): €340,000.00
