Bungalow to two-storey:
This existing 1950s detached bungalow benefitted from a large garden with easterly aspect. The clients requested additional space and brightening up the inside of the existing dark house. The solution was to extend upwards and at the same time bring sunlight into the main body of the house.
The ground floor box room has become the entrance hall. The existing hall has been amalgamated into the front sittingroom. A large master bedroom, dressingroom, family bathroom, store/ironing room as well as a light-filled first floor study are now part of the redesigned house.
